I am trying to find a good home for a horse. He is a 25 year old bay Tennesse Walker. He is up to date on shots and had his teeth done recently. A neighbor down the road has him, and doesnt care if he lives or dies. He has been feeding him goat feed, so he is very thin. But he is a big guy. Stands close to 17hh. Has no lameness or physical issues, except that he is thin. He was very well broke when the guy got him. If you know anyone that may want him, i just want him to go to a good home.

Unfortunately we’re going to see a LOT more of things like that happening because of the “No slaughter” law. People will just conviently “forget” they have horses.

You may try giving your local humane society a call, but I suspect they won’t do much. There are a LOT of horses who need homes nowadays who are a LOT younger and they aren’t finding them either.

You could post him on dreamhorse.com and see if you get any responses.

    Best of Luck.

One of the ladies at our stable posted a horse on Craigslist that she couldn’t take care of anymore. She listed her for free and she was gone the next day to what seemed like a nice family. I always worry about that, but I hope for the best. Good luck, what a great thing you are doing!
