When do we all say “this is B.S., we’re ALL in denial about current issues”?

Dr. Phil-lys asked:

Seriously everybody, we all are just burying our heads, numbing ourselves with, drugs, alcohol, shopping and food. At what point do we say “this is Bull Sh&t and step up and take responsibility for how our nation is governing itself. Voting is NOT enough. Please don’t answer with some economics jargen that you learned in college, that’s NOT the way big business is playing out. “Dow off 2 despite Exxon’s $10B profit
Exxon made more than $10 billion but an 85-point gain for the Dow shrivels to a 2-point loss. Aetna plunges as it forecasts higher medical costs. New home sales slip, hurting builders such as Pulte. Durable goods orders rise sharply.-end. People, the first step to changing is knowing.

I agree that people should educate themselves and get really INVOLVED.

Part of the problem is that I really don’t feel as though I am getting the full, true story from ANY media outlets. Just spin.

    It’s discouraging.

I hope soon. We need to concenctrate on changing the younger generations. The kids who are 8, 9 and 10 now will be our future soon enough. Its too late to influence the teenagers. We need to start young. Society is falling to pieces before our very eyes.

So who is going to start the change? Develop a platform I can get behind, and I will help you push. I am tired too.
My country is living a legacy of debt and bad choices. My kids are almost totally grown, hell, one is, and I want to give them something better. Thing is, I don’t know where to start. I am scattered like that, but point me in a direction, and I am like a sherman tank, I just go that way and let nothing stop me. I am just not the one to come up with the plan, not my strong suite. (spelling?)
So develop a platform I can stand behind and I will happily push.

Okay, my two cents. I have a big mouth and constantly bring up topics I know most people would rather not discuss which alone always boggles my small simple mind. The fact is when you do decide to bring up the wars, the economy, human rights or any other “taboo topic” you better be prepared to have people fly into a rage. I have lost friends because we disagreed over political issues and have had family members stop inviting me over for a visit because I like to talk and believe it or not very interested in others opinions. I know there are always many different sides to every issue. The only chance we have of solving problems is by discussing them. I think a lot of the negativity comes from fear and the realization that yes darlings “The s*** is not only hitting the fan but the fan may shut down completely.” Families, I have found are the worse because their views mostly follow their “company line.” That is very scary indeed. Open your mouth ask questions and speak your mind. Friends also seem to have one “mindset” and can develop a mob mentality out of fear as well. Might be a good idea to learn how to avoid a punch and take an insult as well. Always question authority when you think they are full of crap and make them accountable that will get us back on track Just don’t kid yourself and think it will be easy.
