Why not decide on Obama or McCain based on issues?
Am I the only one who is sick of the infantile bashing going on here and in the media? They harp on Obama for supposedly being an anti-American pro-muslim and rip him for an obvious common sense idea like keeping your tires properly inflated, and on the other side they’re calling McCain McSame and ripping him because he doesn’t know how many houses he and his wife own. Why can’t anyone address the issue of who should be our next President based on the issues?

Because uneducated people do not understand the issues, you can talk til you are blue in the face and all they hear is “YES WE CAN” reverberating through their empty skulls

Because deciding based on the issues would lead most rational individuals to conclude that McCain is better than Obama…

Democrats want equal benefits while Republicans want equal opportunity.

I decided on issues and that is why I am voting for McCain. Also no matter who gets in office there will be no pulling out the troops immediately when they are in office.

Most people don’t pay attention to issues until it affects them personally. Instead, they usually vote for the person they “like” the best.
While I agree that there is enough information in just the issues to pick the better candidate in this election, I also believe that “character” plays a huge role in whom I think is a better candidate for ANY elected office. Character, Integrity, Leadership, and Judgment are not always easily quantified through quotes and facts, but instead require a closer examination of personal life and history.

Who the hell do you think you are?? As any reading of this board attests to,we don’t need intelligent, educated, thinking people like you here for most are blissful just wollowing in their ignorance,intolerance,holier-than-thouness and using GOD ,Christ and Patriotism to justify everything they do like waging an illegal war of choice all based upon a pack of filthy lies that has resulted in the slaughter of over 600,000 of God’s children in Iraq.
What we need are voters who will use important candidate characteristics such as looks, dress and how many houses they own to decide who deserves to be the next President.
What we need are voters who will vote against a candidate not on the issues but on their *** or sexual orientation or their colour or their height or whether or not they go to Church every Sunday (Going to a Mosque will get you 0 votes) for the going to Church shows clearly that a person has a sound Judeo/Christian moral/ethical code just like the Fundamentalist Bush who in the opinion of many US and International jurists is quilty of crimes against humanity .
Blessed are the War Mongers etc etc etc .
The most important aspect of democracy which I love,is that voters get EXACTLY what they deserve .
Notwithstanding the substantial horrors visited upon the US itself and the world because of voter choices in the last two elections,I can only conclude that the vast majority of US voters are insane for they keep making the same mistakes over and over and expect to get different results which many believe is as good a definition of insanity as any.
Good Luck.
PS Just read the replies to date and most meet that definition of insanity and of course as all insane people, they will be the first to ***** and complain .

Oh SARGE!!! Don’t confuse the little libbies with the FACTS!!! They’re perfectly happy in their self-delusional “feel-good” world. So let’s not rattle their cages and wake them up! They’ll be angry if you do! Heck, they’re angry, period!
Have a right-wing day.

Your assessment is very good. And it shows precisely why I will never vote for Obama.. I couldn’t not care about the man’s color..
McCain has a record of fiscal conservatism. Obama “intent” is just the opposite, the largest hike in taxation and government spending ever.
Based on pure fiscal issue Obama would be a disaster.
I have my problems with McCain, but not near what I have for any of the DNC hopeful..
The “mainstream” press glorifies Obama as the new messiah, when in fact he is nothing more the a pure tax and spend liberal with the marxism mantra of take from the rich and redistribute the wealth (generally into the political coffers of the liberal politicians. )
